Using the MYOB import assistant entails stepping through a 3 step process every single time data is imported to select
- File Type to import (e.g. Sales- Item sales) as well as the file to import
- The format i.e. Tab or Comma delimited and has it headings?
- Match Fields – this can be a complex step unless the file format has been carefully aligned to that expected
With TransPost all this information is encapsulated in a named ‘mapping’ which can be stored for re-use so it is as simple as selecting the file and the mapping and then clicking the Import to MYOB button.
But there’s more. With TransPost you can set up a schedule that runs all the imports you need to do at once with a single click, or even totally automatically as files arrive.

Once you complete the set up all you need to do is put the files to be imported into the appropriate folders then click the Run All Now button. TransPost will step through processing the files using the specified mappings and then moving the files to the next folder to ensure they do not get reprocessed.
Even better, you can turn on the TransPost Service which will watch those folders for files arriving and process them automatically.
Once you put the files into the ‘In folder’ the import just happens. If the In folder is a drop box folder shared with your staff they can drop files in from their devices wherever they are. There are some handy apps around that will enable your sales reps to sent in an order directly from a tablet or laptop . Set up right those orders should make their way into MYOB with no further intervention.
